Re: Co Axial idea.
Indeed it is being held in by only that tab of pvc pipe, however the force on the piston is quite small and i trust it entirely. I have also experimented with tapping it off of the tab while at full pressure, the piston barely has enough force to overcome its own friction and only juuust reaches the...

Re: Co Axial idea.
OK
So i managed to get it all sealing properly, found some suitable o-rings.
got it all cleaned up and shes shooting very nicely indeed, quite a bit more power then i had anticipated.
i sure as hell wouldn't want to be hit with this thing.

Re: Co Axial idea.
Indeed i will be finishing the wood, perhaps even replacing it with something a bit nicer then pine. although i definitely want to keep the weight as low as possible, its probably under 250g currently. Im having issues with sealing so far, i mostly attribute this to incorrectly sized o-rings on the ...

Re: Co Axial idea.
Hi all A quick picture of what I've got so far. Please ignore; The poor lighting, the rubber-bands, the messy desk, and my crotch. IMAG0584.jpg Ps. i completely forgot to allow extra room at the back for the breech.. so this model will either be a muzzle loader, or i just might make the extra effort...

Re: Co Axial idea.
JSR For this particular project, a small pistol for my girlfriend to shoot bb's through paper targets with a cloth backstop. I've all but finished it now, but its leaking :( i had to epoxy 2 joints together to seal them because i didnt get the threading quite right by the way... http://www.pyramydai...

Re: Co Axial idea.
The intended build will most likely be a single stroke, cause single stroke is the bomb, obviously the scale is quite off.
I also just wanted to mention that the gap in the barrel (at the point the spool valve seals) is 4 small holes in the tube, not just a gap.

Co Axial idea. *Update-Video*
Hiya spudders So i had an idea today for a coax pistol that has a single balanced spool valve that also acts as the loading bolt. I attempted to design it as simple as possible, the bolt should snap all the way back to a stopper in the stock, allowing you to reload and push the bolt forward again. C...

Im at work at the moment so a quick paint diagram should hopefully do the trick. The back of the valve is polished to 5.92mm and the hole is drilled and polished out to what i hope is 6.00mm with the valve pushed forward and my finger on the barrel port hole, i cant blow air through, but the valve d...

Single pump pneumatic pistol prototype, dodgy mark 1
Hello once more spudders. I recently purchased a minilathe. Oh the fun I've been having with it. One side project I have been working on is a single pump pistol. I've got the design all worked out, and I've been quickly throwing together a prototype, as you can see below, its far from finished. So f...

hmm I was thinking that may be the problem, the piston diameter is 19mm, the barrel is 6mm ID and 10mm OD for the rubber tubeing. the pilot valve is a 3mm bolt with the shaft ground down half way laterally, has an O-ring sealing it and is in a 3mm hole, i would have thought half a 3mm hole would be ...

Heh yeah that cant be it either, Tape... no way any tape could ever fit. When I say *I can continue to blow air through the system*, I mean cheek puffing face exploding blowing will consistently allow a small trickle of air past the piston. so im quite sure that air is leaking past it when im pumping

Trouble shooting a coaxial valve
Hi Spudder's So ive been working on a coaxial piston valve, but i am having troble getting it to fire.. the design is simple, as seen below. Its made from Pvc and epoxy mostley, the piston is a cast epoxy piston (Thanks JSR) the cheack valve and pilot valve are both made from small bolts with o ring...

I have thought of a muffling device of some sort, originally i thought it couldn't be on the end of the barrel, as the entire barrel slides back and forth for the breech, and anything protruding from the outer diameter would interfere with the stock. however upon reading your suggestion I realised i...
