I have a small LPG tank used with a small tip for soldering with it has a tap to regulate gas flow,is it possible to drill this tap larger and use it as a regulater with the tank as an air supply?

Post a picture of your setup.

I have two different propane soldering rigs, one is a "standard" Bernzomatic bottle mounted torch, the other has a hose to the torch head...neither has an actual regulator.

A picture would help! Changes are it would be fine to use as an air supply...
