I have built other cannons, but all of them used ball valves. I was wondering if I could use only a blow gun as my firing mechanism. I don't feel up to modding a sprinkler valve yet. If I could use only a blow gun, could I have a cannon that has a chamber with a pressure rated tube connecting it to the blowgun, then have the blow gun go directly into the barrel?

Well If you do use a blow gun you will be looking at very poor performance. It wont dump air fast enough to get powerful shots.

bluetooth beat me :(

If i do use a sprinkler valve, will it be semi auto. Will I be able to get more than one shot out of the chamber if it is pretty big.

I tryed to use just a blow gun and it just didn't empty the pilot chamber fast enough to accuate the piston valve.

Is Prof's head a good constant air source?
Prof, I thought if you let go of the blowgun, your valve can re-seal is you have enough air in your chamber(s)?

You can get multiple shots with a large chamber, but they will get weaker and weaker. Also, blowguns are fine for main valves, you just need to be shooting nails, BBs, airsoft, etc.

I made a pretty sick airsoft gun for like actualy airsoft fights out of a blow gun. It worked really well and all you gotta do is keep your compressor up there and it rocks... I dont mean like clouds... It was a gravity feed single shot rifle.

You can see mine in the BBMG/Strafer Showcase. It's posted as The Portable Airsoft Gun. I never got around to finishing it, but it still works fine.

i got a airsoft vortex gun and a 5 gallon tank that i put in a backpack works pretty good as a portable gun, every one is scared to come near me so i don't get that many chances to shot any one. when i do they end up with at least 25 welts. but anyway back on the subject, you can use a blow gun to in a gun only if you plan on firing small projectiles (10mm and smaller) i actually made a pump airsoft gun that used a blow gun valve as a trigger
be sure to check out my <a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/ak-styl ... 9.html">AK Styled Vortex Gun</a> and my <a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/at-4-t9627.html">AT-4 Rocket</a>

upcoming projects... finalized clip fed BBMG and ball point pen sniper
