Me and my friends are mounting a couple pneumatic cannons that have been specialized just for water onto a canoe when we go canoeing because a) we can, and b) to have fun with shooting the other mebers in our canoeing party.

We're probably going to end up putting in a water delivery sytem so that we can reload faster by threading in a hose barb and a hose with a hose clamp to secure it.

Then we're going to clamp the cannons onto the side of the canoe using C-clamps with rubber pads on the ends to prevent wear on the canoe. The reason is because these aren't our canoes, so we'll have to be careful in how we mount them.

After that we're going to attach the hoses to either one or two 5 gallon water bladders that have been pressurized enough to push water into the barrel when one of us triggers a valve. This allows water into the barrel to refill it. We're using a sprinkler valve from the water bladder to the barrels. This way, when the cannon(s) fire, the overpressure from the barrel goes into the sprinkler valve, which by the way, when you are pressurizing a sprinkler valve the wrong way, it lets the pressure by. That overpressure recharges the water bladders pressurization and allows them to put about the same amount into the barrel after each firing.

Also the guns are fired with sprinkler valves as well, so that me and my friend can move without having to stop paddling long enough to fire.

wow that sounds fun. my dads friend has a good size combustion and a lake so he sends people out in boats and they try and hit them. i imagine it like those corny online games where there are things going across the top and your on the bottem and have to shoot them before it reaches the other side.

SWEET!!
A Battle Canoe.
That almost tops my idea of using a canoe as a fuselage on a small plane.
I would have called it the flying canoe.

Yeah, I'm probably going to post pictures as soon as I finish it and mount it onto the canoe. If anyone wants, I can probably post some schematics too.

I am making PVC Waterguns, they're 1.5" bore cannons for close quarters use, until I can figure out a way to extend their range. After I make them completely modulated, I'm going to mount them to the canoe.

Use a closed chamber with a firing valve, fill valve, and a screw cap. Fill it with water, pressurize the water, then open the firing valve to a small (3/8" or smaller) barrel, which turns it into a huge super soaker and will shoot over 50 feet, to my experience.

Ever had a squirt gun? How would the water get out if there wasn't pressure. You're thinking compressing. You can't really compress water, but you can pressurize it by adding compressed gas.
