Gday guys,

This is my 5th cannon. Like my others, it's made from poly and uses a sprinker valve in some way or another. But I tell ya...This is the strongest gun I've ever made, It totally dwarfs my piston gun in power. The secret is this new sprinker valve I got and a modded blowgun. The valve was worth 95 bucks but my mate got it for 30 bucks. At that price i thought id give it a try. At 100psi I was able to blast a marble through a whole news paper doubled over. Even with all of that, it was still able to go through and make a rather nice looking dint in the back of the target box. I know this gun doesn't look all that special but I tell ya, you just can't argue with results. :D

Haha thanks alot. These soda bottles can take up to 150. I've done many tests on them myself, but I'm not going past 120. This valve just has super quick opening time and a massive flow plus it can be taken to 188psi. I havn't seen one as good as it. Plus having the modded blowgun makes a huge difference. Thanks alot for the comments mate. :D

mate that is sooo nice. but why did ya leave pistons for a sprinkler?...unreliably?

neways just rip the solenoid out and epoxy a stubbie lid off you fave beer in there (i saw that somewhere...)

nice gun man cant wait til ya get a decent chamber n all, ya should make like a under/over chamber so it doubles as a stock or something.

good work

Yeah just pure unreliability with pistons (and I know I'm gonna get alot of flack because I can't make a decent piston lol) I know there great but I'm just so happy with this valve. I can't wait untill I make a poly chamber or use my metal tank on it. I'll problaby turn it into a under over and make a poly stock. Thanks for the comment mate.

These sorta cannons are just great. So simple to make, they don't cost too much at all to make and they are reliable. :D

I just made a new pin for it and made the holes bigger in valve piece. It has a 3x the flow compared to the stock blowgun.

Sweet gun, I think if I make one I will use the sprinkler valve instead of a piston, it don't look hard to make a piston but I think the spinkler valve or even the QEV are quicker (I think they are the same thing though)

Thanks mate. Yeah sprinker valves are the way to go I reckon. They are cheap and easy to mod but like everything they have a downside. It just comes down to personal preference and what psi your gonna use.

both QEVS and piston valves have greatly more flow than sprinklers....QEVs have 2 times as fast openning time and they only have to have a differential of like 3 psi...piston valves would kick almost any valves a$$ at flow coeficiancy....

but on topic....nice gun and i am not going to b*tch but is that tee abs??
4" piston valved cannon-half done..( i spilt my cement...)

what brand of sprinkler valve is that and what size? kind of looks like maybe 1.5 inch or 38mm inlet and outlet from the pictures.

Its a Philmac Standard Solenoid Valve. It's only a 1in valve. It just has a massive diaphram in it. Probably why it has such a good flow and opening time.

Mitcho.
