I have a few questions, about the safety of PVC and a few other things.
1st. Exactly how safe is PVC pipe, I have some 330 psi pipe, and I know not to use cellular core. I assume this would be safe for your basic combustion cannon right?
2nd. How do you install an ignitor so that fuel will not escape around where you installed the ignitor.
3rd. And for compression. Im guessing that the potato being wedged into the barrel creates at least a partial seal?
4th. How easy is it to buy ABS pipe? Should a hardware store like Lowes carry it? Is ABS pipe just the greenish coloured sewer pipe?

1) Yes that should be safe for a standerd combustion.
2) You use two screws screwed into the chamber, with a wire attached to each.
3) Yes, the potato will act as a plug.
4) I don't know.
5) The spud wiki is a great place to research answers for just about any question you may have about spud guns.
EDIT: 6) I'm no expert, but i've learned this much from just reading post after post after post, and some common sense.

ABS is usually black, I've seen this green pipe too but I don't know what it is.

When making the barrel knife, just file on the inside of the barrel also, so it makes a better seal.
330 PSI sounds like it should be Sch40, in 3inch I'm guessing? That will work for combustion and pneumatic. Just not hybrid.
Did you check the pressure rating, or at least look to see how thick the "green stuff" is? I have seen some, but it was large and very thin.
When screwing the screws in, predrill your holes and if possible drill through a coupling and the pipe, then either have the contacts there or run wires to other contacts..
By the way, ABS is not pressure rated, so I don't approve of it's use. Do as you wish though.

ABS is not the Devil, it is 10X better for combustions than PVC, even cell core ABS.

please children... end it now. ABS vs PVC arguments are getting real gay real fast.

The green stuff is SDR 13.5, (I think), sewer pipe.

The green pipe is rather large and thin and I don't remember if it has any writing on the outside of it.
I think the sch 40 330 psi pipe was about 2.5" or something, I was thinking of using it for a barrel.
