Right so now my combustion is pretty much done I want to start a pneumatic. I wanted to build a small rifle like so many legends have already done. My parts list includes several schrader valves, a 1/2 ball valve and thats about it. I can get steel and other parts. Money is no object either so lucky me :P Anyways every little bit is appreciated.

A ball valve= no accuracy whatsoever, considering it's hard to aim with them and the gun jerks when you turn the handle. They also suck in general. Several schrader valves? Why?

well, if you have unlimited money, buy a lahte, and 8" sainless steel/fitting, a welder,a 200 gallon industrial comoressor, steel stock rod and all the other components for a 8" barrel sealing valve, and pilot it with a 6" sprinkler(piloted by a 1.5" sprinkler[piloted with a 1"QEV]) and make the biggest cannon known to man :D

back to reality. depending on what you want, i would get a 1" sprinkler, or a qev...and make a cannon around that.

TwitchTheAussie wrote:...rifle...
Get a .50cal muzzle loader barrel blank, cut the breach block off and tap it with a ½ inch NPT tap, from that put on a piston/diaphragm valve connected to a steel (cast iron) chamber. Now get a HPA/ Co2 tank or buy/make a high pressure pump. Use said pressure source to pressurize your new *rifle* to a VERY high pressure, 30bar should work just nice. and viola you got your self a handy little air *rifle*.
Call me "Judge", it's easier to type.

Hmmmm biggest cannon known to man you say? Cool about the 1" sprinkler I should be able to get one from Tamworth next time I go. Any ideas on making it compact?

what do you mean by "compact"

also, seeing as you australian, and im american, im not ure if they will have the exact same ones that im talking about. not sure if you would have to go US to metric, or keep it as US(whatever our system is called, i think its something like royal).

i personally like 3/4" valves, because i have alot of paintballs, and i can go strait into a 3/4 sch80 barrel. i dontknow what your equivelent of a 3/4 sch 80 barrel is. if you want to fire other progectiles, i would go with the 1" valve.

tell me what "compact" is, and i can help with that. tho im pretty bad at comp drawing, and im going to have to use mspaint instead of apple works(i love apple, but i loathe appleworks)

How compact are you trying to make it?
You could make it compact by:
by having a small chamber with high pressure.
by having the chamber surrounding the barrel(like most barrel sealers)
the Bulpup design so there is no need for a stock
A shorter barrel but have it rifled (to keep accuracy)

If money is no object you should defiantly get it diamond encrusted.

About 30cm by 10cm chamber and a paintball barrel. Im not really looking for power just compact reliability for some weekend bordom busting.

ums, let me convert that...so, 11"long, 3" chamber....ill go and GGDT it up and see how long the barrel needs to be.

frankly, i think the chamber is overkill for a PB gun. if your going to use bigger barrels it makse sense. also, what layout would you like? over under, inline, or damn-sexy-erganomic{tanslated from Bryce to english: chamber is shaped like a stock}( hard to do with a 3" chamber)

ill do a rough thing on the comp, and when you know what you want, ill do it by hand and scan it in.
