Deus Ex Machina (deus ex māchinā) is a Latin phrase that when directly translated it means "god out of machine" the phrase is used to describe divine intervention of the gods or a supernatural change in fate
this is also the name of my new spud gun 8)
I think this is an awesome name for a sniper or cannon (artillery) in the way that the gun is a god-like machine that can change the fate of a battle
its not done yet but its a bolt action cartridge gun
and its almost done I still have to work on the exterior stuff
do you think this is a good name for a spud gun

Too late.
Change the chamber, it looks rediculously small, work on the handle, use a piston valve, but by GOD keep the uber-cool bolt action and keep the new version hidden to enter it as a new gun!!
Very cool concept, but the look is not "finished".
See it as an opportunity to correct the too-early-posting-thing..

That is sweet. Will you show some more info on the bolt reloader? I find that making a gun semi auto is pretty easy, well sorta not really easy but a lot easier than making something that will reload the gun.
I love the look except for the duct tape. It's not bad but it brings the ghettoish level up one notch.

How does it work? Does it work by using the breech to let one up like a rifle or some other way? Im confused

this works a lot like a bolt action rifle for rimed shells
the front coupling that the front of the cartridge plugs into is loose compared to the back bolt that plugs into the cartridge by less this a centimeter yet the trick is to get it to stick fairly well with only a centimeter of grip the solution was a a thin layer of JB weld smeared on the bolt. finally during ejection the mechanism is nothing more than a bolt screwed into the side of the receiver so when the bolt is pulled back the edge of the coupling that is part of the cartridge hits the bolt and flicks off out of the ejection port
for a cartridge gun this is pretty simple compared to other homemade cartridge ejection systems that I have seen recently seen

I've seen it on a homemade nerf gun but this way it seems even better..

Nicely done, shame they're not preloaded as having sufficient air for the whole mag as well as a semi-auto valve is going to be pretty bulky.

yeah their not preloaded cause that would be pretty crazy if you really want to then you could make mini coaxle diaphrams which is hard to mass produce
my shells are just pieces of pipe with coupling and I can shoot what ever I want unlike other reapeating guns that only shoot a single type of ammo that is uniform
i still need to order some music wire for the magazine cause the crap for crap aluminun sheet metal spring only gives me 3 shots when the magazine is facing down when theroretically with a perfect spring I should be able to hold 8 rounds given the size of my magazine
edit; oh you ment an airtank in the magazine well my magazine is fixed so I can't hold a loaded magazine full of shells. but I can remove it quickly for mantaince with the a pull of a pin.
